Abrel was recently invited to attend the Midas Ireland annual conference and Semiconductor Industry awards, held at the Ambassador Hotel in Cork.
MIDAS Ireland champions Ireland’s micro and nano-electronics system solutions industry with a key mission of ensuring the sector continues to be one of the most attractive to work in. Innovation is the lifeblood of our industry and MIDAS Ireland is keenly focused on enhancing the infrastructure to ensure innovation is thriving.
Ireland indigenous companies and FDI are leading the world in innovation, with the essential support of our research organisations and educational system.
MIDAS Ireland, established back in 1999, is an industry led partnership consisting of FDI and indigenous companies, educational organisations, research institutions and government agencies working together addressing common challenges within the sector in Ireland.
The MIDAS Conference
The conference was opened by IDA’s head of Enterprise and Technology, Donal Travers. There were a number of excellent guest speakers at the event including senior executives from companies such as Xilinx, Cypress, Decaware, Jaguar Landrover, and Qualcomm.
The main theme of the conference this year was the future of autonomous driving and the technology required to make it a reality.
Additionally, to some networking time, where we got to meet plenty of people including Gerry Byrne from Midas Skillnet pictured above with Declan Brosnan the evening concluded with a gala dinner, where a Lifetime achievement award was made to Ray Stata, founder of Analog Devices.
We’re looking forward to catching up with our fellow industry professionals at the next MIDAS event in the new year.
